FAQs

Nadia L. - Class of 2020

What am I allowed to bring with me on the day of the test?

You will need to show a valid government issued ID such as a driver’s license, military ID or a passport. You are allowed appropriate eyewear. Unless otherwise instructed, please leave all electronic devices, baggy/bulky clothing and hats, mechanical pencils, and food/drink containers in your car or at home. We can supply scratch paper (if allowed), pens or pencils, and ear plugs. For those with disability, a doctor’s note or school paperwork will be needed. Children, family members, and friends are not allowed into the testing room at any time.

I’m feeling anxious about an upcoming test. What should I do?

It is common for students to experience test anxiety before and during an exam. When anxiety becomes high enough to impact exam performance, there may be a problem. There are ways to minimize test-taking anxiety beginning with knowing the cause of your anxiety, then identifying helpful coping strategies and techniques. If you believe test-taking anxiety is limiting your ability to be successful in your classes, please check out our Student Wellness website for helpful information on mental health and wellness.

Keep in mind we offer testing at many locations across the University, and you will need to cancel and/or reschedule with your original point of contact or online scheduler. At all NU locations there is never a penalty and students can reschedule their appointments at any time.

Is there a cost for parking on test day?

At the Spectrum Library parking lot, there is never a cost for parking and plenty of spaces are usually available. National University campuses like Glendale are in shopping malls where there may be a fee associated with parking. It’s best to ask when making an appointment.
