The Post-Baccalaureate in General Business allows you to select courses from a broad range of electives to fit your personal and professional goals.
This certificate requires you to complete a minimum of four courses (12 credit hours), with at least two courses taken from our MBA program offerings, including Marketing Management, Global Business, Supply Chain Systems, and more. You also have the option of taking an additional course from a post-baccalaureate certificate program offered in other fields (Psychology, Technology, and/or Education).

For the Post-Baccalaureate in General Business, you must complete four courses and 12 credit hours. The estimated time needed to complete this certificate is 9 months.
Course Listing
This course examines the most important components of corporate finance. You’ll start with an examination of financial statements like balance sheets and income statements, and continue with related financial ratios that assess profitability, short term solvency, accounts management, and debt structure. You’ll then explore the fundamental concepts of present value and future value to help solve business and personal financial problems. Debt and equity securities are also examined, including the important role of interest rates in valuing debt securities. Finally, you’ll study the costs and benefits of employing debt or equity to maximize the value of a business enterprise.
This course is designed to enable you to recognize and analyze the potential legal implications of common workplace situations. It will help you understand and evaluate current trends and issues in employment law, regulations, and HR policies and apply this knowledge to effectively manage risk in the workplace. Considerations are addressed regarding the employment relationship, employment laws, and HR policies intended to resolve employment disputes. Finally, you’ll examine unionization within a global context and current and future trends in employment and human resources law.
This course examines leadership roles, styles, philosophy, and behaviors in globally diverse organizations. You’ll explore leadership through the challenges and implementation of change within global organizations. The focus is on realistic managerial situations and the techniques involved in managing change and the different ways employees respond to opportunities and threats.
As the initial course in the entrepreneurship specialization, this course serves as the prerequisite for all future entrepreneurial studies. It’s recommended that you enter the course with a well thought out product or service venture. You’ll explore many facets of this new venture to determine its potential success in the marketplace, including feasibility; an analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT); and identification of potential investors.
