National also leads nation in Hispanic Graduate Enrollment
La Jolla, Calif. – National University leads all California colleges and universities in granting master’s degrees to Hispanics, according to The Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education’s annual rankings of “Top 25 Graduate Schools for Hispanic Students,” which were published in the magazine’s April 9 edition.
In addition to leading California, National University ranked fourth in the nation in granting master’s degrees to Hispanics.
Hispanic Outlook also reported that National University has the largest enrollment of Hispanic graduate students in the United States. The magazine’s rankings were based upon data from the United States Department of Education’s National Center for Educational Statistics.
Hispanic students made up 16 percent of National University’s total graduate enrollment (3,171 of 19,514 graduate students). Of the 3,171 Hispanic students, 1,922 were women (61 percent) and 1,249 were men (39 percent).
Founded in 1971, National University is California’s second-largest, private, nonprofit institution of higher learning with 22,000 full-time equivalent students. Based in La Jolla, National University has 27 campuses in California and one in Henderson, Nevada. National annually ranks among the top universities or colleges in the nation in granting master’s degrees to Hispanics and other minority groups in all disciplines.
